“Being a student in the agricultural leadership, education and communication department makes it extremely difficult to have only one favorite professor, because they are all so amazing in their own ways. I have had the opportunity to be their student, as well as their office assistant, and they are all totally wonderful people who are very passionate about what they teach. If I had to pick the professor I am the most thankful for getting to know it would be my magnificent advisor, Frank B. Flanders. He is an assistant professor in the ALEC department with an emphasis in agricultural education. He is overly qualified for his roles and executes them superiorly. Dr. Flanders has an array of degrees and accomplishments, and he has served in agricultural education for over 35 years. He is a remarkable advisor, friend and role model. Thank you Dr. Flanders for all you have done and continue to do to guide me toward success here at UGA.”

David Gattie, Associate Professor in the College of Engineering, is passionate about wanting his students to succeed.

Essays about yourself for college

''I chose to attend UGA because of its strong science curriculum. I wanted to be challenged in a way that would help prepare me for a career in medicine. I’ve been blessed with many great professors. Apart from UGA’s respected academia, I was drawn to UGA’s rich tradition that is embedded in the South, Georgia Bulldog football, and the Classic City. Athens is arguably the best college town in the South.''

Admission to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine requires a rigorous program of undergraduate study in the basic sciences. Students are encouraged to plan their program of undergraduate study carefully so that they will receive a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture whether or not they are later admitted to the College of Veterinary Medicine. The College of Veterinary Medicine has a limited enrollment policy. Selection of the best qualified applicants for admission is the responsibility of a faculty committee within the College. The committee considers applicants who have met the minimum academic requirements including at least three years of study, or its equivalent, at an accredited college. Students normally apply for admission to the College of Veterinary Medicine during their third year of study in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Pre-Veterinary Medicine program. Students not admitted to Veterinary Medicine may continue their study in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences for a fourth year to complete the requirements for the B.S.A. degree in any major they choose. Several degree programs within the College are compatible with the Pre-Veterinary Medicine program. The program of study will meet the dual objectives of completing the requirements for admission to the College of Veterinary Medicine and the requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Students should contact the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, College of Veterinary Medicine, for a more detailed description of requirements for admission to that college.

Thesis: an essay’s main proposition

As a student at the University of Georgia, it is important to understand that UGA does not have a pre-law major, per se. Therefore, you cannot declare pre-law as your major, nor can you graduate from UGA with a pre-law degree. However, as an incoming student, it is useful to inform your academic advisor that you intend to go to law school because this may help your advisor direct you to courses and events that may be beneficial to someone intending to go to law school. Regardless of the major that you choose, or the school or college that you eventually become a part of, you are encouraged to continue to seek advice and assistance available through the pre-law advisor.
